Today we are in for a treat! We have a guest blogger who is going to give her side of the June Disney Birthday Girls Only trip! Another teenager who had her 'first' Disney trip. As always, it is unedited (except for some capitalization I could not read without cringing! LOL) Enjoy! I was very excited for my very first trip to Disney (that I can remember). It was magical. I want to thank Brianna and her mother, the wonderful travel agent herself, Mrs. Jeanne Morris for inviting me on this trip for Bri’s birthday. Our first day we got out of the house super early much to Bri’s, Alyssa's and my dismay because we didn’t go to sleep until 1:30 am (that was really stupid at least for me). I got settled in for the 7 hour drive and had some nice conversation with our lovely driver while Bri and Miss Alyssa slept. We got settled in to our hotel, Port Orleans French Quarter. It was very clean and comfortable and there were hidden Mickeys in the room! We went to dinner at ‘Ohana’s our first night. I ate too much but I think, now that I’ve been to ‘Ohana’s all of twice, if you go to ‘Ohana’s and you DON’T eat too much you aren’t doing it right. ‘Ohana’s was unlike any restaurant I had seen before they just kept bringing more food, even when you said no more and the food was unique where I wish I could find a replica that wasn’t 7 hours away! Our first day at the actual parks was really cool. Our first stop was Animal Kingdom! We went on the safari and saw a plethora of animals including a Black Rhino, giraffes, hippos, flamingos (one of my personal favorites) and Ostriches. Then we rode Expedition Everest we had lunch at a place that had paper straws so that was exciting! After we ate lunch we headed over to Hollywood Studios to make it on time for our fast passes. Bri and I rode tower of terror 4 times!!! Bri screamed every time. We also went on Star Tours and Rockin’ Roller Coaster and I love Aerosmith so that was fun. We ate at Sci- Fi drive in where the food was less than stellar, my burger was pink in the middle, but that’s okay because we got to experience the horror that is 50’s horror movies. Then we headed back to our hotel room tired and in need of some hot chocolate. The second day was Epcot day and I think that was my favorite day because of all of the different countries that are represented. I bought things from several of the countries to take back with me and keep forever; my favorite being a set of chopsticks from Japan. We went on a few of the rides, including spaceship earth, Figment, Soarin’ and Test Track, at Epcot and complained about our feet ( sorry Mrs. Morris thanks for putting up with us) and we just missed the astronomical wait at the Frozen ride. It opened the very next day. (Good thing we were at Magic Kingdom that day). That was also the day we got the Kitchen sink ice-cream bowl. It was HUGE! I don’t see how anyone could eat that much ice-cream the 4 of us couldn’t eat it all. My favorite part of Epcot day was dinner. We had dinner at a place in the Italy part of Epcot and I had lasagna and a cannoli. The cannoli even had a pattern on the plate in the shape of a fork with chocolate powder. We then, not being able to feel our feet, went back to the hotel room and collapsed. The last day was Magic Kingdom day and that was a fantastic day! We did a new thing that Disney was trying an Early morning pass where part of the park was open for a few people and hour before everyone else. I don’t know if it was worth it because the only things that were open were the tea cups, Winnie the Pooh ride, Peter Pan and the dwarfs mine ride. But we did get breakfast with it so that was a plus! We rode space mountain several times, Carousel of Progress( a 20 minute ride in the air conditioning in the middle of summer YES PLEASE!), Under The Sea and people movers (Bri and I were really tired and there was a breeze, it was glorious). We watched the fireworks show from rocking chairs and people movers then we went back to the hotel room and collapsed in exhaustion. The day we were to leave we packed up all of our things and packed it in the van and ate a Character breakfast at ‘Ohana’s! (My new favorite place I have decided). I need more Polynesian in my life. There was fresh fruit and Juice and they kept giving us more food. I got a picture with one of my favorite characters, which I may or may not have bought a stuffed animal of, Stitch!
Overall my first trip to Disney was a great one thank you for letting me hitchhike along Mrs. Morris, Bri and Miss Alyssa. I am so grateful to have such wonderful friends that would think to invite me on their special vacation.
