If you are comparing Disney Cruise Line prices to other cruise lines, you may be a little shocked by the price. But you are not comparing apples to apples because with Disney Cruise Line, you get SO MUCH MORE! Other cruise lines will nickel and dime you, but being on a Disney Cruise is like being at an All-Inclusive Resort. . .but at sea. Disney means quality, so you have a much better value for your money as well. The Cabins Disney has built their ships with families in mind, unlike other cruise lines. Disney has made sure to put an emphasis on giving families their space. They have the largest cabins in the industry. This is a vacation, and you don’t want your family to be on top of each other in a small, cramped cabin. Disney has done an amazing job of using every inch of space that is available. The beds are lifted off the floor at the perfect height so that you can slide your suitcases underneath. Out of sight, out of mind. Most rooms have split bathrooms, allowing multiple family members to use the bathroom at once. Split bathrooms leave the sink and toilet available if someone is in the shower. And if you have little ones that take baths, don't worry, there are rooms with small bathtubs - unheard of on most cruise ships!! Another perk Disney cruise line has is that each cabin has an attendant that will clean your cabin twice a day. Who doesn’t like coming back from a long day out to a clean cabin? Cabin Types Disney’s Cruise ships Dream, Fantasy, Magic, and Wonder all offer the same type of cabins:
The Food Disney has unique rotational dining and a server team aboard the ship. They also include the cost of soft drinks in their price, unlike other cruise lines. Most other cruise lines upcharge for a better dining experience, while Disney doesn’t. You’ll even have the ability to try a different restaurant every night of your stay, in addition to the always-available buffet. It's so hard to choose a single favorite meal! Being a diabetic, sometimes I say 'I eat to live, not to enjoy the food.' But on Disney Cruises, they go out of their way to make sure I get wonderful meals and even sugar free desserts! Disney’s character dining and unique dining experiences make their cruise line stand apart from other cruise lines. One of these unique dining experiences is called the Animator’s Palate. While you enjoy dinner, you will see the dining room come alive! Activities for kids Disney makes sure to put focus on kids and keep them entertained. You won’t find the huge space dedicated to gaming and casinos that is common on other cruise lines, and Disney has used that space for kids' activities. Disney has clubs for the adults— and the kids! These kid-only areas allow them to make new friends and participate in multiple age-appropriate activities. The kids’ clubs are usually open every day from nine in the morning until midnight. Good luck trying to get your kids out of the club! Included in the cost of your cruise is the use of The Oceaneer Club and Lounge (ages 3 to 12), The Edge Club (11-14), and The Vibe Club allows teens aged fourteen to seventeen to chill and hang with people their age. And for the little ones aged six months to three years, Disney has the “It’s a Small World Nursery” starting at only $9 per hour. I don’t know about you, but I don’t know anywhere I could leave my baby knowing they are in excellent hands for that amount. Entertainment Aboard Entertainment is one of Disney’s specialties in the park and out on the sea! You and your family can enjoy a Broadway-quality performance aboard any Disney Cruise ship! These family-friendly performances are put on every night at the Walt Disney Theater onboard. This is a great opportunity to bring the kiddos when they need a break. They'll be able to sit back and relax as they take in the magical performances. After seeing an amazing show, you and the family can get ready to party! Disney throws themed nighttime dance parties on the ship. Some themes they have are ‘Pirates IN the Caribbean’ and ‘Freezing the Night Away’ in honor of Disney’s Frozen. You can look forward to dancing and interacting with some of your favorite Disney characters. Enjoy an amazing firework display as your night comes to an end—something that separates Disney’s cruise line from other cruise lines. Don't worry—Disney didn’t forget about the adults! Disney has adult-only spaces on their ships, such as restaurants, clubs, pubs, decks, and more! Disney Castaway Cay Castaway Cay is Disney’s private island that is used exclusively for their Bahamian and Caribbean cruises. The private island is everything you’d imagine it was. Crystal blue water, white sand beaches, and clear skies while you sit back and relax for the day. Very much on par with Disney and the expectations they set for themselves, the island is considered the top experience for a cruise line’s private island. They offer not only relaxation on their island but also adventures and activities. Activities
And more! On our last cruise, my son had just turned 18, He was so excited that on Castaway Cay, they served steak for lunch in the adult section! Food and most of the activities offered are included in your cruise fare, so you don't have to worry about bringing cash or a credit card. You can charge things that aren't included in your cruise fare to your cabin, including adult beverages, excursions, and souvenirs.
