Have Souvenirs Sent to Resort!

Here is another one of my favorites!  I love to shop!  I hate to carry around bags in a theme park!  Lugging around purchases is not my idea of fun.  And what are you supposed to do with them when you ride?  You could always rent a locker, but that could get expensive, especially if you shop like me.  (ahem).  Plus, with two parks, you’d have to get a locker in each park (or at least I would.)

Luckily, Universal has a solution.  Actually they have two solutions, but one I never use, because, well, the other is so convenient!  

The one I never use is they allow you to have your purchases held at the front gate.  While it sounds like a great idea, it really wouldn’t work for me because I go back and forth between parks so much during one day, I'm sure I’d forget to go back and grab my purchases! (which, come to think of it is another reason the locker situation wouldn’t work for me!)

For me, the one that is perfect is to have the items (or items) sent back to the resort!  It only adds a couple of minutes to have the cashier add the info to the bag and voila it is sent magically to the resort the next day via owl messenger!   Well, maybe not via Owl Messenger, but it is delivered to the gift shop at your resort for you to pick up the next day after noon-ish. 
And just like Owl Messenger, there is no charge!

​The only downside to this method is that they don’t deliver on your checkout day.  So if you are checking out on Saturday, and shopping on Friday, don’t expect them to be delivered back to the resort for you.  (so I guess if it really were Owl Messengers they would be able to find you.)  This is easy to fix.  Just make your larger purchases before your next to the last day!  Problem solved!

The other good thing about this?  No one will know how much you have bought!  While everyone is relaxing by the pool you can head down to the gift shop and retrieve all your packages and slip them into your luggage and it will be our little secret.  Shhh.  ​
