Unlocking the Magic: Deciding the Best Time to Visit Disney for the Ultimate Experience

Wondering When to Book your Walt Disney World vacation?

The answer is always NOW.

If you are even remotely considering a 2024 Disney vacation you should always start planning as early as possible.

Do NOT wait for deals/discounts to be released.

Disney, like most of the travel industry, has dynamic pricing. As hotel rooms fill up the price increases. When Disney releases discounts they are on the rates at the higher end of the range, so the promotional rate is often higher than the introductory rate.

Disney requires one of the smallest deposits in the industry… only $200 reserves your room and ticket package. That is FULLY REFUNDABLE up to 30 days prior to check-in. So if you are considering a Walt Disney World trip it is always better to lock in your vacation to ensure availability and the best pricing.

The BEST time to book Disney packages is when Disney releases their packages for the following year.

Know you want to travel in 2024 but aren’t sure when?

You can google the best time to visit Walt Disney World and find thousands of answers.
“Best”  can be defined as either
  • lowest crowds
  • lowest price
  • moderate temperatures and mild weather
Let me let you in on a little secret… a time with all three does not exist

A better question is when is the best time for your unique family to visit.

Before you even start doing research on the best time to go, look at your own calendar.

Choosing your travel dates is one of the first steps in planning your Walt Disney World vacation.
  • Decide when your family can’t go. What obligations are already on your calendar?
  • Decide how you feel about taking the kids out of school.
  • Decide what you define as “best” - is it lowest crowds, lowest pricing, longest park hours, special events, or mild weather.
  • Schedule a call with me and we will figure out the best time for YOU!!

What about those Crowd Calendars?

The traditional 'crowd calendars' are becoming increasingly less accurate because Disney is smoothing out their downtimes with enticing events and promotions - and the pent-up demand due to COVID is INSANE!!

In all our post Covid visits, the crowd calendars have been way off! We've seen no appreciable difference between busy and non busy days (excluding holidays and weekends).  With the exception of Disney Springs!  It has been super busy almost every weekday and weekend we have visited!

Instead, check out the key features of each month and prep for the time you will visit. Is there a particular festival you want to visit during?  Maybe International Flower and Garden Festival?  International Food and Wine Festival?  International Festival of Holidays? (my personal favorite!) Or maybe International Festival of the Arts?

Don't let the fear of crowds scare you off, but also don't decide to go on Christmas Day and expect the parks to be empty!  They will not be! During the days leading up to, and just past a major holiday are more crowded, as are weekends.  Which are also the days that are more expensive to visit, both in ticket prices and room prices.

As long as you are prepared, you can have a great time even on the busiest days. What is most important, is to know what to expect when you arrive. Setting your expectations, and helping you plan your trip; that is where I come in.  So schedule a call  and we will get started planning that 2024 trip!
